NURSES REGISTRATION ORDINANCE - SECT 19
Penalty for failure to give evidence
(Past version on 30/06/1997).
Any person who, being summoned to attend as a witness or to produce any
document or other thing at any inquiry held in accordance with the provisions
of section 17, refuses or neglects to do so or to answer any question put to
him by or with the leave of the Council shall be guilty of an offence and
shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $1000 and to imprisonment
for 3 months: Provided that no person shall be required to answer any
question, or to produce any document or other thing which, in the opinion of
the Council, may tend to incriminate himself, and every witness shall, in
respect of any evidence given by him before the Council, be entitled to the
same privileges to which he would be entitled if he were giving evidence
before a court of justice. (Amended 82 of 1997 s. 21)
